These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern applications, bookings, payments, enrollment, and participation in Yoga Teacher Training programs and related educational services offered under the Uttama Yoga Academy brand.
Please read these Terms carefully before making a payment.
By submitting an enrollment application and paying the applicable registration deposit or full program fee, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

2. NATURE OF THE AGREEMENT
These Terms constitute a public offer setting out the conditions under which Uttama provides its programs.
A binding agreement is formed when:
1. your application has been accepted, where an application process applies; and
2. we receive the required registration deposit or full program payment.
Prior to acceptance of an enrollment application, Uttama reserves the right, at its reasonable discretion, to refuse or decline any booking or enrollment request without providing detailed reasons. Where payment has already been received for an application that is not accepted, all amounts paid for that application will be refunded in full.
The date payment is successfully received is considered the date of acceptance of these Terms unless otherwise confirmed in writing.
Any program-specific booking confirmation, invoice, application confirmation, or payment page forms part of the agreement between you and Uttama.
If a program-specific written agreement expressly differs from these Terms, the program-specific agreement will prevail in relation to that specific provision.
3. PROGRAM

• assessment and practical examination.
The precise order, timing, faculty allocation, or format of individual modules may change where reasonably necessary.
Such adjustments do not constitute cancellation of the program provided that the essential educational nature and overall scope of the program remain substantially consistent.
5. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE PROGRAM FEE
Unless expressly stated otherwise in the applicable booking offer, the program fee includes:
5.1 Training
Participation in the full scheduled Yoga Teacher Training program for the applicable cohort, including scheduled classes, lectures, workshops, practice sessions, teaching methodology sessions, supervised teaching practice, and assessment sessions.
5.2 Educational Materials
Access to the standard training materials provided by Uttama for the program. Materials may be provided digitally, physically, or in a combination of formats.
5.3 Accommodation
Accommodation for the official duration of the program in the room category selected and paid for by the Participant.
The exact accommodation category is confirmed at booking and may include, depending on the available offer:
• shared/dorm accommodation;
• twin/shared room accommodation;
• private accommodation.
Room configuration, view, building, or exact room number may vary unless specifically guaranteed in writing.
5.4 Meals
Three vegetarian and/or vegan meals per day during the official program period, unless the specific booking offer states otherwise.
We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary restrictions communicated in advance. However, specialised dietary arrangements cannot always be guaranteed.
5.5 Training Facilities
Use of the standard training areas and yoga equipment provided for scheduled Uttama classes and activities.
5.6 Program Activities
Activities specifically identified by Uttama as included in the official program schedule.
The format or timing of individual activities may change due to weather, safety, availability, cultural considerations, or operational circumstances.
5.7 Assessment and Completion Documentation
Assessment required as part of the program and a certificate of completion where the Participant successfully satisfies the applicable attendance, academic, practical, behavioural, and assessment requirements.
Where a particular external credential, registration, or Yoga Alliance-related status is referenced, its availability is subject to the School holding the applicable registration or credential at the relevant time and to the Participant satisfying all applicable requirements.
6. WHAT IS NOT INCLUDED
Unless expressly included in writing, the program fee does not include:
• international or domestic flights;
• visa costs;
• passport costs;
• immigration expenses;
• travel insurance;
• health or medical insurance;
• medical treatment;
• vaccinations;
• transportation to and from Bali or Indonesia;
• airport transfers unless specifically stated as included;
• transportation outside scheduled program activities;
• personal purchases and expenses;
• laundry;
• additional accommodation before or after the official program dates;
• optional excursions, treatments, workshops, or activities not identified as included;
• meals purchased outside the included meal program;
• additional private tuition or consultations;
• costs resulting from a Participant's early arrival, late departure, missed flight, visa problem, illness, or personal change of plans.
7. REGISTRATION DEPOSIT
A registration deposit is required to reserve a place in the program.
The applicable deposit amount is the amount stated on the booking page, payment page, invoice, or written enrollment offer at the time of booking.
The deposit:
• reserves the Participant's place;
• forms part of the total program fee;
• is credited toward the total amount payable;
• is non-refundable except where expressly provided in these Terms.
Payment of the deposit constitutes acceptance of these Terms.
8. REMAINING BALANCE
Unless another payment deadline is confirmed in writing, the remaining program balance must be paid no later than 30 days before the program start date.
Where enrollment takes place fewer than 30 days before the program begins, the outstanding balance is due immediately or by the deadline specified by Uttama.
Failure to pay the balance by the required deadline may result in cancellation of the reservation, release of the Participant's place to another applicant, and retention of the non-refundable registration deposit.
Any alternative payment arrangement must be confirmed by Uttama in writing.
Payments may be processed through authorised third-party payment providers selected by Uttama from time to time. By making a payment, the Participant also agrees to comply with the applicable payment provider’s terms and conditions where relevant. Uttama is not responsible for temporary interruptions, technical failures, or delays arising solely from third-party payment systems outside its reasonable control.
9. PRICES AND PROMOTIONAL OFFERS
Program prices may vary depending on cohort dates, accommodation category, promotional offers, Early Bird pricing, availability, and other program-specific conditions.
The price applicable to a Participant is the price confirmed at the time of booking.
Promotional prices apply only in accordance with the conditions stated in the relevant offer.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
• discounts cannot be combined;
• promotional offers have no cash value;
• a later reduction in the price of the same or another cohort does not create a right to a partial refund.
10. CANCELLATION BY THE PARTICIPANT
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing to care@uttama.yoga.
The effective cancellation date is the date on which Uttama receives the written cancellation request.
10.1 Cancellation 30 or More Days Before the Program
If Uttama receives your cancellation request 30 or more days before the program start date:
• the registration deposit is retained and is non-refundable;
• all other program fees paid by you will be refunded.
The applicable refund will normally be processed within 30 days after the cancellation is accepted and the necessary payment details are available.
10.2 Cancellation Fewer Than 30 Days Before the Program
If Uttama receives your cancellation request fewer than 30 days before the program start date:
• the registration deposit is retained and is non-refundable;
• 50% of the amount paid above the registration deposit will be refunded;
• the remaining 50% is retained by Uttama.
Participants in this situation may alternatively request a transfer to a future cohort under Section 12.
10.3 Cancellation After the Program Has Started
Once the program has commenced:
• no refund is provided for voluntary withdrawal;
• no refund is provided for missed classes or activities;
• no refund is provided for early departure;
• no refund is provided for dissatisfaction resulting from personal expectations where the contracted program is being materially provided.
Exceptional documented circumstances may be considered under Section 13.
10.4 Chargebacks and Payment Disputes
Participants who believe a payment has been processed incorrectly are encouraged to contact Uttama before initiating a payment dispute or chargeback.
Where a chargeback or payment reversal is initiated fraudulently or without reasonable grounds after educational services have been provided or reserved, Uttama reserves the right to dispute the chargeback, recover any outstanding amounts, suspend access to the program or educational materials, withhold certificates of completion where legally permitted, and take reasonable steps to recover associated costs.
Nothing in this section limits any rights a Participant may have under applicable law to dispute an unauthorised or genuinely incorrect transaction.
11. ADMISSION NOT APPROVED
Where Uttama operates an application or admissions process and an Applicant has made payment but is subsequently not accepted into the program by Uttama, all amounts paid for that enrollment, including the registration deposit, will be refunded.
This does not apply where admission cannot proceed because the Applicant provided materially false, misleading, or incomplete information.
12. TRANSFER TO A FUTURE COHORT
Instead of cancelling, a Participant may request to transfer their enrollment to a future cohort of the same or substantially equivalent Uttama program.
All transfer requests must be made in writing to care@uttama.yoga.
12.1 Transfer 30 or More Days Before the Program
A transfer requested 30 or more days before the original program start date is permitted without an administrative transfer fee.
Amounts already paid will be credited toward the replacement cohort.
12.2 Transfer Fewer Than 30 Days Before the Program
A transfer requested fewer than 30 days before the original program start date is subject to an administrative transfer fee of USD 150.
The remaining amount paid will be credited toward the replacement cohort.
12.3 Transfer After the Program Has Started
Transfer after the program has commenced is not available as a standard option.
Uttama may consider a request in exceptional circumstances, including a documented serious medical emergency or comparable extraordinary event.
Approval is discretionary and will depend on the circumstances and availability.
12.4 Maximum Number of Transfers
A Participant may normally transfer an enrollment once only.
Enrollment and course credits are personal and may not be transferred or sold to another person without Uttama's written approval.
13. EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES
We recognise that serious unexpected events can occur.
In cases such as serious illness, significant accident, death of an immediate family member, or another extraordinary circumstance outside the Participant's reasonable control, the Participant may contact care@uttama.yoga and request special consideration.
Supporting documentation may be required.
Uttama will consider such requests reasonably and in good faith, taking into account the timing of the request, costs already incurred or committed, program capacity, available future cohorts, and the nature and evidence of the circumstances.
Any solution offered under this section is exceptional and does not automatically create an entitlement to the same treatment in other cases.
14. PRICE DIFFERENCE WHEN TRANSFERRING
If a Participant transfers to a future cohort and the applicable program or accommodation price for the replacement cohort is higher than the Participant's original confirmed price, the Participant must pay the difference before the new program begins.
Where the Participant originally enrolled under a specific promotional or Early Bird category, Uttama may apply the corresponding available pricing category for the replacement cohort where reasonably applicable.
If the replacement cohort or accommodation category has a lower price, the difference is not automatically refundable unless Uttama agrees otherwise in writing or applicable law requires otherwise.
A Participant who voluntarily changes to a more expensive accommodation category must pay the applicable price difference.
15. CANCELLATION OR POSTPONEMENT BY UTTAMA
If Uttama cancels a program and does not provide the contracted program, enrolled Participants will be offered either:
1. a refund of all program fees paid to Uttama for that program, including the registration deposit; or
2. a transfer of the full amount paid to an available future Uttama cohort without a transfer fee.
If Uttama postpones a program to materially different dates and the Participant cannot reasonably attend the replacement dates, the Participant may choose a refund of amounts paid to Uttama for that program or transfer to another available cohort.
Refunds under this section relate only to payments made to Uttama.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Uttama is not responsible for independent costs incurred by the Participant, including flights, visas, third-party accommodation, transportation, insurance, lost income, or other travel or personal expenses.
Participants are strongly encouraged to obtain suitable travel and cancellation insurance.
16. FORCE MAJEURE
Uttama will not be considered in breach of these Terms where performance is prevented, materially disrupted, or made unsafe by circumstances outside its reasonable control.
Such circumstances may include natural disasters, earthquake, volcanic activity, flood, severe weather, epidemic or pandemic, war, civil unrest, terrorism, government restrictions, changes in immigration or travel restrictions, closure of airports or transportation networks, major utility failure, fire, or circumstances affecting the safety or legal operation of the venue.
Where reasonably possible, Uttama may respond by changing dates, changing the venue, modifying the schedule, rescheduling affected elements, transferring enrollment to another cohort, or offering another reasonable solution.
Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
17. TRAVEL DOCUMENTS AND ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Each Participant is responsible for holding a valid passport, obtaining the correct Indonesian visa or entry permission, satisfying immigration requirements, understanding applicable customs and travel requirements, arranging onward or return travel where required, and ensuring that their passport remains valid for the required period.
Uttama may provide general travel information but does not act as an immigration adviser and cannot guarantee that a Participant will be granted a visa or entry into Indonesia.
Failure to obtain the required travel documents does not automatically create a right to a refund outside the cancellation terms in this Agreement.
18. TRAVEL AND MEDICAL INSURANCE
Participants are strongly advised to obtain comprehensive insurance covering, where available, medical treatment, emergency evacuation, personal injury, cancellation, interruption of travel, flight disruption, lost baggage, and other relevant travel risks.
The Participant is responsible for determining whether their insurance is appropriate for participation in yoga and other activities included in the program.
19. HEALTH AND PARTICIPATION
Yoga Teacher Training involves physical activity and may include asana practice, breathwork, meditation, mobility work, partner work, demonstrations, and physical adjustments where appropriate.
Participants are responsible for determining whether they are physically and medically able to participate.
Participants must inform Uttama of relevant injuries, medical conditions, pregnancy, physical limitations, allergies, or other conditions that may materially affect safe participation.
Disclosure should be made before or as soon as reasonably possible during the program.
Participants should seek appropriate professional medical advice where they are uncertain about their ability to participate.
Teachers may suggest modifications or recommend that a Participant avoid a particular practice where safety concerns arise.
Participation in individual physical practices remains voluntary.
20. NO MEDICAL SERVICES
Uttama Yoga Academy provides yoga education.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, Uttama and its yoga teachers do not provide medical diagnosis, medical treatment, psychotherapy, physiotherapy, nutritional medical treatment, or other regulated healthcare services.
Educational information provided during the program is not a substitute for individual medical advice.
21. ATTENDANCE AND GRADUATION
Enrollment alone does not guarantee graduation or certification.
Participants are expected to attend required sessions, participate appropriately, complete required assignments, complete required practice teaching, complete assessments, satisfy applicable attendance requirements, and comply with the Code of Conduct and other School policies.
Where a Participant misses required training hours, Uttama may require make-up work or additional training where this is reasonably possible.
Additional individual make-up training may be subject to additional charges where it requires additional faculty time.
The School may withhold completion documentation until applicable program requirements have been satisfied.
22. EXTERNAL REGISTRATION AND YOGA ALLIANCE
Where the program is represented as associated with, aligned with, submitted to, registered with, or recognised by an external organisation such as Yoga Alliance, such statements apply only according to Uttama's actual registration or credential status at the relevant time.
Unless Uttama has received the applicable registration or approval, participation should not be interpreted as a guarantee of an external credential.
Where an applicable Yoga Alliance registration is active, eligibility to register individually with Yoga Alliance may also depend on successful completion of the applicable program, the Participant's individual application, Yoga Alliance's own rules and fees, and any subsequent changes made by Yoga Alliance.
Uttama does not control independent third-party credentialing organisations.
23. TEACHERS AND SCHEDULE CHANGES
Uttama selects teachers based on their qualifications, experience, and role within the program.
Where reasonably necessary, Uttama may replace a teacher, change the instructor allocated to a module, adjust teaching hours, change the sequence of modules, move an activity to another suitable time, or make reasonable changes to the daily schedule.
A change of individual teacher does not by itself constitute cancellation of the program where Uttama provides an appropriately qualified replacement and continues to deliver the essential program.
24. ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation is provided according to the category selected at booking.
Participants acknowledge that individual rooms within a category may differ slightly, photos are illustrative unless a specific room is expressly guaranteed, normal maintenance or operational issues may occasionally occur, and reasonable access may be required for cleaning, maintenance, or safety purposes.
Participants must treat accommodation and facilities responsibly.
A Participant may be responsible for damage caused intentionally or through serious negligence.
25. MEALS AND DIETARY REQUIREMENTS
The standard program includes vegetarian and/or vegan meals as described in the applicable program offer.
Participants should disclose allergies and significant dietary restrictions before arrival.
Uttama will make reasonable efforts to accommodate communicated dietary needs but cannot guarantee accommodation of every specialised diet or eliminate every risk of cross-contact.
Participants with serious allergies remain responsible for assessing the suitability of food and communicating their needs clearly.
26. CODE OF CONDUCT
Participants must behave respectfully toward other students, teachers, staff, venue staff, local residents, and visitors.
Serious misconduct may include harassment, bullying, discrimination, threats, violence, sexual misconduct, deliberate disruption of the learning environment, serious breach of safety requirements, illegal conduct, or repeated serious violation of School policies.
Uttama may investigate reported misconduct in accordance with its applicable policies and grievance procedures.
27. REMOVAL FROM THE PROGRAM
Uttama may remove a Participant from the program where continued participation creates a serious safety concern, behavioural concern, welfare concern, legal concern, or material disruption to the learning environment.
Where a Participant is removed for serious misconduct or a material violation of the Code of Conduct, no refund is normally provided.
This provision does not affect any rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
28. COMPLAINTS AND GRIEVANCES
Participants are encouraged to raise concerns promptly.
Formal complaints may be submitted to care@uttama.yoga.
Complaints concerning conduct, harassment, discrimination, program quality, or administrative matters will be handled according to Uttama's applicable Grievance & Complaint Process.
Financial cancellation or transfer matters are handled under these Terms.
29. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, training materials provided by Uttama are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
Participants may use materials for personal study, preparation for their own teaching, and normal professional reference.
Participants may not, without written permission, reproduce the training manual for commercial distribution, publish substantial portions of the materials, sell or sublicense the materials, upload the materials publicly, or create and sell a substantially copied training course based on protected Uttama materials.
Nothing in this section prevents Participants from using general yoga knowledge, skills, techniques, or concepts learned during training in their own practice or teaching.
30. PHOTOGRAPHY AND VIDEO
Uttama may photograph or record certain program activities.
Commercial or promotional use of identifiable Participant images will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy law and any consent process used by Uttama.
Where separate consent is required, agreeing to these Terms does not by itself replace that consent.
Participants must also respect the privacy of other Participants and should not publish private or sensitive recordings of others without appropriate permission.
31. PERSONAL PROPERTY
Participants are responsible for their own personal belongings.
To the extent permitted by law, Uttama is not responsible for loss, theft, or damage to personal property unless caused by Uttama's breach of a legal duty that cannot be excluded.
Participants should take reasonable precautions and maintain appropriate travel insurance.
32. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.
Subject to that principle, Uttama is not responsible for losses arising solely from the Participant's failure to follow reasonable safety instructions, undisclosed medical conditions, independent travel arrangements, visa refusal, flight changes, third-party services not controlled by Uttama, voluntary participation in activities outside the official program, or acts or omissions of independent providers outside Uttama's reasonable control.
To the extent permitted by law, Uttama will not be liable for indirect or consequential losses such as loss of income, business opportunity, or anticipated profit arising from a Participant's attendance or inability to attend a program.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.
33. PRIVACY
Uttama processes personal information in accordance with the Uttama Yoga Academy Privacy Policy available at https://uttama.yoga/policy.
By submitting an enrollment application or making payment for a program, the Participant acknowledges that they have read the Privacy Policy and consent to the collection, use, storage, and processing of their personal information as described in that policy to the extent necessary for the administration and delivery of the program and for compliance with applicable legal obligations.
Participants may contact care@uttama.yoga regarding privacy questions or requests.
34. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
Uttama may update these Terms from time to time.
The version accepted by a Participant at the time of enrollment will normally apply to that enrollment.
Changes required by law, safety requirements, or regulatory obligations may take effect where legally necessary.
Material changes affecting an existing booking will be communicated where appropriate.
35. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms and the contractual relationship between Uttama Global Limited and the Participant are governed by the laws of Hong Kong, subject to any mandatory provisions of applicable law that cannot legally be excluded by agreement.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to deprive a consumer of any mandatory statutory protection that applies to them and cannot legally be waived.
36. DISPUTE RESOLUTION
Participants are encouraged to contact Uttama first so that disputes may be resolved fairly and efficiently.
Please contact care@uttama.yoga.
If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Hong Kong, except where applicable mandatory law provides otherwise.
37. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
38. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, together with the applicable booking or enrollment confirmation, invoice or payment confirmation, Privacy Policy, Code of Conduct, and applicable program policies, form the agreement governing participation in the program.
